Selection Process
Selection runs through a merit list, Document Verification, pre-engagement medical examination and the offer of engagement. There is no written test.
Merit List
Candidates are ranked by percentage of marks in descending order in the prescribed qualification for the trade applied for (aggregate of all subjects of all years/semesters). First-time apprentices get preference. A tie is broken by date of birth (senior first), then by higher Matriculation percentage. PwBD candidates who used the qualification-marks relaxation are considered against reserved seats regardless of position in the select list.
Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted by merit position and seats are called to bring originals and a self-attested copy of each document. One original Photo ID is also required (Aadhar, PAN, Voter ID, Driving License or Passport).
Medical Fitness and Offer
Only candidates declared fit in the pre-engagement medical examination are considered, under the physical fitness standards of the Apprentices Act. Those whose documents and medical certificate are in order receive the offer of engagement. Filling the seats is at the management’s discretion, and no claim arises if seats remain unfilled.
