ASMC Bahraich to recruit 53 Faculty Posts

Educational Qualification and Experience

The notice lists the educational and other qualifications for every post as “As per N M C.” Applicants must meet the educational qualifications and experience set by the Medical Council of India’s Minimum Qualification for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1999.

Age Limit

Candidates below 70 years of age may apply for contractual appointment to the medical teacher posts. The notice does not print an “as on” date for age.

Salary

Under Government Order No. 109/2024/176/71-1-2024/71-1001/804/2020 dated 18 July 2024, contractual teachers get a fixed pay of ₹2,20,000 per month (Professor), ₹1,60,000 per month (Associate Professor) or ₹1,20,000 per month (Assistant Professor). The college will follow any government orders on pay issued from time to time.

Government Letter No. 250/2018/4067/71-1-2017-जी-63/2008, dated 20 September 2018, was issued by Medical Education Section-1, Lucknow. Under this letter, a retired Professor of a government medical education institution who is appointed as Professor on contract will get a fixed pay of ₹2,20,000 per month under the prescribed conditions. Apart from the fixed pay, contractual teachers are not entitled to any other pay, allowances, bonus, pension or service benefits.

• A demand draft for the application fee of ₹2,000 (two thousand rupees only), payable to “Principal, ASMC and Associated Teaching Hospitals Bahraich”
• A declaration or affidavit stating that your services will be terminated if any adverse fact is found against you (to be submitted at the interview)

What Happens on the Day

1. Come to the Principal’s office at Maharaja Suheldev Autonomous State Medical College and Maharshi Balark Hospital, Bahraich-271801. You can come on 27 October 2026 or on any Tuesday or Friday after that.
2. Report before 12:00 noon. Applications are not received after 12:00 noon, and late candidates cannot take part in the interview.
3. Hand in your application in the prescribed format with the ₹2,000 demand draft.
4. Submit the declaration or affidavit at the interview.
5. Attend the walk-in interview, held between 10:00 AM and 02:00 PM. No TA/DA is paid for attending.

Important Instructions

• The appointment is on contract (संविदा) for one year. If no regular teacher is available after a year of satisfactory service, the contract may be extended as needed, based on satisfactory service.
• A contract ends as soon as regular medical teachers become available. If service is not satisfactory, the contract may also be ended with one month’s notice.
• Either side may end the contract at any time with one month’s notice or one month’s contract pay.
• Selected teachers must take charge at the medical college within 15 days of signing the agreement.
• Contractual teachers are not entitled to regularisation in government service. The agreement must state that the teacher will not claim regularisation or permanency, or any benefit beyond the fixed pay. Other service terms will be as set out in the agreement.
• No pension benefits or bonus are paid for the contract period.
• Contractual medical teachers will not be transferred.
• Private practice is not allowed on OPD days. Teachers who do private practice must state where they practise and must always be available at the medical college for emergency and disaster services. No teacher may compel patients to see them privately.
• The number of posts may be reduced or increased, and the notice is valid for 89 days only.
